WHOSE LIE IS IT? NO: 1
Plastic Wigs
Whose lie is it no.1 creates an optical illusion that ascending could also be seen as descending. The design is composed of spiral stairs made of red plastic wigs which are contained by three colossal machines four meters wide, three and a half meter high. It makes us to think how desperate our efforts to reach somewhere, to rise above, even when we thought that we finally succeeded, we only draw circle around our selves. Similarly, descending could also be perceived as ascending. Never less, the truth is, there is no way out. The things we saw, the things we perceived are just illusions. As a perception our so illusory and if all our assumptions and knowledge are based on our perceptions, then we live a true lie, a lie that transcends us. Our one and only source of information, our very foundation, our single witness is our perceptions, yet they are liars.
This is the explanation of this work probably its written by the artist but it is an anonymous article.

as hippies like to say, that is "heavy" Ece -- meaning, that is a very serious discussion to have. contemporary art is not something that people usually take too seriously, but i think it has interesting points and definitely gets people thinking in different ways -- which of course is better than sitting at home watching TV or staring at blank walls (in school). I think keeping the mind engaged and giving everything you are exposed to a chance to teach you something is a very important skill to learn.
Ececo this post is definetely an enjoying post to read even thought it seems so long by lenght. I appreciated your writing, it made me learn about new contemporary design works. As Ms. Clark said which I think is a good way to diagnose "Contemporary Art" that it gets people thinking in different ways.
