Joel

This girl, her name is Joel she has complexes with herself, she is not aware of her sweetness even though everybody thinks that she is a very sweet and charming person.

Lately we went to Buğçe's home (Joel, me and rana) we thought that it would be fun to be all together, however it was not. With the boredom we have, Joel and me decided to take photos. Joel was the model and I was the photographer. (Actually I thought that Joel was not the person to be a model). But she shocked me with comfortable, natural and wonderful smiles and facial expressions that she gave to the camera. We really had fun while Rana and Buğçe were riding bikes. Joel and I were amazed with the beautiful photographs and Buğçe was very mad to us because we used her clothes (which are the most important things in the world for her: D.

Thanks to Buğçe;
For using her home,
Her cosmetics and
Her clothes.

Thanks to Nikon D80 (which belongs to Joel)

THANKS to Joel for being an incredible model!!!

I am waiting for your comments.

CONTEMPORARY

WHOSE LIE IS IT? NO: 1

Plastic Wigs

Whose lie is it no.1 creates an optical illusion that ascending could also be seen as descending. The design is composed of spiral stairs made of red plastic wigs which are contained by three colossal machines four meters wide, three and a half meter high. It makes us to think how desperate our efforts to reach somewhere, to rise above, even when we thought that we finally succeeded, we only draw circle around our selves. Similarly, descending could also be perceived as ascending. Never less, the truth is, there is no way out. The things we saw, the things we perceived are just illusions. As a perception our so illusory and if all our assumptions and knowledge are based on our perceptions, then we live a true lie, a lie that transcends us. Our one and only source of information, our very foundation, our single witness is our perceptions, yet they are liars.

This is the explanation of this work probably its written by the artist but it is an anonymous article.

What is art? A hard question...

For bayram, our Turkish teacher gave us an essay topic about art. We have some questions to answer and we a magazine article and interviews about art. Milliyet Sanat (the magazine) asks several questions to the artists, designers, editors, art teachers, photographers and authors. English author Jeanette Winterson's answer about art affected me very much. She said” Art will make us better, because it offers us an alternative values system, it is against to capitalism. Because we can’t' buy the art cheaper from Hong Kong, we can’t breed the hormonal one in the laboratory. It doesn't have a "deadline" and you can’t invest the art to the bank.

What is your comments about art?

Interesting information:
The real name of Salvador Dali is "Salvador Domingo Felipe Jacinto Dalí i Domènech" just like the other Spanish artists. No one knows it but the real name of Pablo Picasso is "Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Martyr Patricio Clito Ruíz y Picasso". I heard that in old times, Spanish people believe that the more name they put to their children, the more the children will be succesfull and lucky. I think this is why their names are very long:).
